Summer Scheme Information.
We want to say a huge thank you for all your support in the Oasis Summer Schemes, this has been our 9th year and it has been the largest and hopefully the best to date. Our Summer Schemes have been a phenomenal success starting out with 32 participants in 2010 we have grown to 560 participants and 200 volunteers.We wanted you all to know, as parents that we are currently reviewing our future Summer Provision and are giving careful consideration to its future direction. We always run this programme with a shortfall of around 10% in funding, however this year due to funding cuts we will finish with a deficit of at least 30% in the budget. This is one of a number of factors that have encouraged us to review the future delivery of the Summer Scheme in its current format.
Oasis will continue to provide opportunities for both Children and Young People throughout the Summer and the entire year, however we believe that it is unlikely to be in the format of one large programme like it has been in recent years.
We believe that our programme has been a significant demonstration of communities coming together, working together and impacting our town in a positive way. We hope the legacy and ethos of our Summer Schemes will be carried forward by Oasis and the communities that have supported us over the past 8 years.
PLEASE NOTE DUE TO BUSES ON TRIP DAYS
- Gates at collection will remain closed for parents until approx 3.20.
- Children who have been on the trip will have their lunch box and any coats with them at collection, no need for parents to go to registration hall.

INFORMATION ON ZOO TRIP
TUESDAY TRIP (OLDEST 10 GROUPS):

Please note: same time for registration, doors open at 9.30am and same pick up time of 3.30pm (gates of school will not open until 3.20pm) and door into registration hall will not open until 3.25pm.
BUSES WILL RUN AT USUAL PICK UP AND DROP OFF TIMES
Please note: on designated trip day, please send your child with a ruck sack (with child’s name on it) with their packed lunch and a snack which they can take when they arrive at Zoo. Please note some groups will have to keep their lunch with them throughout the zoo trip, so a rucksack is advised for lunch bag. At registration they keep their ruck sack on them rather than leave it in hall. Buses will be leaving as soon as morning Drama is over and returning before pick up time. Please note when buses arrive back to school, children MUST go to marquee and parent/guardians must go through usual collection procedure.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY FOR GIFT SHOP AS CHILDREN WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO GO.
DEPENDING ON WEATHER, PLEASE PUT SUN CREAM ON CHILDREN BEFORE CLUB AND/OR SEND LIGHT RAIN JACKET WITH CHILDS NAME ON IT.
All children will be getting a HI VIZ JACKET to wear throughout their time in the Zoo.
As well as this, all leaders will have designated children to look after while in the Zoo, each group will go around as a group and no one allowed to venture off on own.
There will be designated picnic areas for each group to enjoy a lunch break, and we have designated FIRST AIDERS on hand at all times.
We are excited about our trip to the Zoo and we will make sure your children are well looked after and will have a fantastic time.
Oasis Aussie Adventure Summer Scheme starts Mon 23rd in St. Johns COLLEGE (Formerly Drumcree College). Reg opens at 9.15am Mon (9.30am Tue-Fri). Collection at 3.30pm each day.
PLEASE PARK IN ST JOHNS CHAPEL CAR PARK and use lollypop people to cross roads to school in both morning and afternoon. Blue Badge holders may use car park at College Gates, no cars will be permitted inside the school grounds.
On Mondays arrival please find your child’s name on notice board before you enter registration hall and proceed to correct table. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO TEAM SWITCHING DUE TO HIGH NUMBERS OF KIDS ATTENDING. We would appreciate it if you do not request team switches as refusal often offends.
Trip to Belfast Zoo on Tue or Wed depending on group. Please remember to send any required medication, coats if required with childs name and apply sun cream on child weather dependant. Tuck shop money can be sent each day, with £1 limit per child. Please put money in purse or bag with child’s name. Packed lunch required Mon-Thur (in ruck sack on trip day). Morning break provided each day. BBQ provided on Fri Fun Day.
